I am an engineer-MBA from IIT Kharagpur and IIM Bangalore. At IIT, I did B.Tech. (Hons) in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering and at IIM Bangalore, I majored in Marketing and Systems streams. I worked for over 30 years in the IT industry at CxO Levels, in companies such as Oracle, SAP, TIBCO, Compaq and Wipro. During this phase, I had the opportunity to lead, guide and mentor hundreds of people and I have realized that people have immense potential and only a spark is needed to pave the path for the individual to achieve his or her true potential. I have seen the power of self-belief, of determination and of attitude. As a leader of people, I created more leaders, rather than followers.

I moved to teaching in 2013 for that is something I was always excited about. My experience of mentoring people in corporate organizations is a useful asset when I now mentor students. I have learnt to instil self-belief in students and to ignite their minds for learning, questioning, probing and analyzing.

I am into teaching because I love to teach!

In fact, if you do what you love to do, you tend to become better and better at it. As a student, I loved Physics and Mathematics. That love motivated me to delve deeper and ask questions of my teachers until I was satisfied. Studying then was not “work” for me – I derived immense joy from it. I think that’s what helped me to achieve the AIR 11 rank at the IIT JEE 1977. I was a topper and I can show you the way to get there.
